Smooth Jazz Now To Present World Premier of Jim Samuel's 'Smooth Covers, Smooth Dance' On Friday, March 15, 5PM (EST)

March 15, 2013 – The AirCom Radio Network is proud to present a special 90-minute Full Spin with Jim Samuel. The pianist is releasing his comeback album 'Smooth Covers, Smooth Dance” today and Smooth Jazz Now has the exclusive world premier of the album in its entirety. “It's amazing,” says John Beaudin, Program Director of Smooth Jazz Now, “Jim's been out of the game for so many years but he's found his sweet spot again – he's found his groove.”

Samuel was once a member of the popular band Bob Brady and the Conchords who had success with "More, More, More of Your Love" and "Everybody's Going To a Love-In" in the sixties. After his rock n roll dreams faded Samuel achieved success in the business world but now he's back. “I love Smooth Jazz but I also wanted to add some energy, some dance grooves to my music,” says Samuel. The result in an uplifting album featuring interpretations of Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder and Toto tunes to name a few.

Tune in to Smooth Jazz Now today at 5PM (EST) as Samuel sits in with John Beaudin and, together, they play every track off the album 'Smooth Covers, Smooth Dance.' The radio special will also be replayed both on Saturday and Sunday nights at 10 PM (EST) on Smooth Jazz Now. - READ MORE

ThisJazz Readies to Launch New Radio Station Monday March 4th

February 23, 2013 – The folks who brought you SmoothJazzNow are branching out into a more Contemporary and Traditional Jazz area with a brand new radio station. ThisJazz will also feature a great mix of different Jazz genre's including Smooth Jazz as well. “On SmoothJazzNow we have always had a sub-category of tunes from artists that sound more Contemporary Jazz or, sometimes, Traditional,” says John Beaudin Program Director of SmoothJazzNow. “We though why not do a little research and see if we could serve Jazz fans from a different angle and also include the best Smooth Jazz in the mix.”

ThisJazz will also make the music first. “The new station will not be heavy on talk,” says Beaudin, “The message is the music. Trust me, you won't hear long diatribes on the psychology of Jazz on this radio station.”

Beaudin says the ThisJazz chart will be unique because of the different genre's of Jazz housed in the countdown. “Lots of Smooth Jazz charts include more traditional/standards type singers but our list will be much more diverse than that. We have been testing the mix for almost a year now and all these cats sound great together.”

If you are a Smooth, Contemporary or traditional Jazz artist submit your music at here

ThisJazz will launch at 6AM (EST) on Monday March 4, 2012.

For information on the station and or advertising opportunities contact John Beaudin at (917) 310-7625

When Radio Is Great! Dan Harrington Builds Intimate Relationships On-Air Everyday on Christian Trax Alive

November 21, 2012 – The Christian Radio market just got more interesting. There’s a new player in town and they are gaining ground fast. Christian Trax Alive launched just a few months ago but already is a main player in the format.

Dan Harrington, on-air host and Program Director of Christian Trax Alive says he first got the idea for the station after being laid off from his job in 2011. “I was unprepared for job loss and it was definitely unexpected,” says Harrington. “I prayed for a message from God and after a very enlightening sermon at Church one Sunday morning the idea struck me as I was driving home,” says Harrington. He adds, “God was speaking to me, telling me to use the gifts and talents he gave me to spread his good news and to encourage others to feel positive about the life they have been given.”

Christian Trax Alive has also taking a different turn in not being preachy at all to their listeners in fact the station lets the music do most of the talking. “I'm not a pastor, ordained or otherwise, and I'm not qualified to preach,” says Harrington. “We are all human and the nature of our being makes us all imperfect. I am not someone that can claim to know what God wants from any one of us except what I know is right based on his word in the Bible.”  Harrington says the artists on the station do a great job spreading the word, “Their words and music draw you in to the message of the glory of God and the desire of His heart that we no longer sin so that His son Jesus did not die in vain. The music provides a wonderful outlet for praise and worship.” Harrington says his job is simple, “positive encouragement on a human level.”

Harrington’s love for radio started as a boy, “I would listen to some of the legends of 60's and 70's radio on my transistor radio under the pillow at night. I decided early on this is what I wanted to do.” He obviously took lots of notes. His on-air style on Christian Trax Alive is confident, smooth and plugged in but that came after lots of hard work. “I think in the early years I was more of a radio announcer type rather than a radio personality,” says Harrington. “After a few years of working various music formats I decided that I would just relate to people on air the same way I do in person. I just want to be authentic and real. I took a 13 year hiatus from the industry but when I started Christian Trax Alive, the ability to relate was as instinctive as it was when I had left radio in 1999.”

With many internet radio stations lacking direction or purpose, Christian Trax Alive has a strong goal to keep connected to what’s important and Harrington finds that with a higher source. “ I have always felt a connection to God and have always believed in Jesus Christ. I know the presence of the Holy Spirit has been with me at all times. But to be truly Christian one needs to be reborn. That happened to me about 2 years ago,” he says.

Christian Trax Alive streams on their own website www.christiantraxalive.com you can also download their android and Apple apps at the same address.

REVIEW - Mike MacArthur – Feels Like Home (4 out of 5 Stars) – AMG Group
March 2, 2013 – I think the reputation of a music reviewer is that of a bitter and jaded curmudgeon living in a van down by the river. Years ago after writing a blistering review of a project that sounded half finished the artist approached me at a club and screamed, “You must spend a lot of time looking for things to hate?” “Actually it's the opposite, I answered, “I use my hours looking for the good stuff, 3/4 of the trip, however, is filled cliched blah!” MORE
